No.14 Buy Now Scone Moon – What a treat to witness a moon like this on one of my first nights back in the Hunter Valley.
Yesterday

It was such an amazing sight to see a big bright Scone moon rise over the town.  I wasn’t quick enough to capture the actual rising itself as my camera was not on hand.  However, by the time I grabbed it I noticed the moon beautifully framed by this old, dead tree.  Many moons ago this tree was alive and thriving.  Although, nature had other plans and unleashed an almighty lighting bolt down upon the beast.  Now, a shadow of its former self, the tree still strikes an imposing image across the land.

Unfortunately the clouds have rolled in and according to the weather-folk nature has a biblical downfall in store for us.  I’ll have to wait until early next week to see the moon rise once more, hopefully later in the evening so I can try to capture a couple more Milky Way shots before it fades away for the next six or so months.

The trip home has been successful so far.  I have ticked off one of my favourite three things to photograph.  A full moon.  All that is left is the Milky Way and some flowing water.

Until tomorrow,

Jimmy
